J.S. Bach clearly thought of the solo Cello Suites as real cycles (no key repetition), while their textures are not as strongly polyphonic as those of his works for thesolo violin.It is sometimes thought, therefore, that they were written somewhat earlier, but that is only an assumption.Their invention, technical prowess and form guarantee Bach's output for solo cello it's permanent place in the repertoire, as well as representing a great challenge to every cellist. This is a very good CD. I enjoy listing to music from the 50's 60's 70' and the 80's.
The CD is very good. I enjoy listing to music from the time I was growing up and while I was in the Air Force.
