LoneLady (aka Julie Campell) s Hinterland (literally ''the country behind'' in German) conjures impressions of decayed Manchester outskirts and reclusive inner landscapes as Campbell continues her fascination with the post-industrial ruinscape. At its core beats an uncomplicated drum machine rhythm and synthetic percussion that recalls fractured memories of minimal wave and even early techno and dance, dynamically spliced through with Campbell's intricate, choppy and propulsive guitar playing. Campbell: Its channelling Parliament/Funkadelic, Stevie Wonder, Rufus, Prince, Arthur Russell&among others. A strange - but nonetheless real - meeting of funk and&me from Audenshaw, Manchester. The album is underpinned by an urgent post-punk sensibility, as Campbell describes it - an inescapablycement-coloured North of England psyche.

I bought it for the BTS interview and pictures and I am not disappointed! The interviews with each member are thoughtful and good. I only wish I could purchase the special edition 8 magazine set.
Haven't watched it yet; I buy LOTS of movies, and it can be weeks, even months, before I get to this one. I like the main actress, having seen her in 2 other films, and was glad to see she's also in one of the other 2 films I ordered from you. All 3 arrived in EXCELLENT condition!!
