For this CD Herbert Schuch has not only selected two composers but also two different instruments. He plays the A-major Sonata on a Fazioli grand piano that provides him with a somewhat more slender sound. The Schubert program is divided by Leos Janacek's 1905 Sonata; this is almost like an 'Unfinished,' for the composer burned the third movement shortly prior to the premiere. This is a very good CD. I enjoy listing to music from the 50's 60's 70' and the 80's.
