Landscapes and Shorts contains original music written for Timothy Winfield, trumpet, and Nancy DeSalvo, piano, as well as a recording of one of Walter Hartley's classic instrumental compositions, Sonatina for Trumpet. Also included are world premiere recordings of Daniel Perttu's Torngat, Joshua Hobbs' Keystone Landscapes, Jason Howard's Nine Short Shorts for Trumpet and Piano, and Josh Oxford's Beethoven in the House. Oxford's composition is written for trumpet and live electronics and employs a mix of blues and funk while also cleverly utilizing twelve-tone methods. Compositions by Perttu and Hobbs engagingly paint musical pictures of landscapes in Pennsylvania and Canada, while Howard's work journeys through several short, but emotionally charged characteristic pieces.

This is a very good CD. I enjoy listing to music from the 50's 60's 70' and the 80's.
The CD is very good. I enjoy listing to music from the time I was growing up and while I was in the Air Force.
