German guitarist Hans Fahling and the acclaimed American artist Patrick Haskett have collaborated on a musical and artistic exploration of the ancient German port of Hamburg entitled "Hamburg: Port of Call." Haskett painted 11 canvases exploring different scenes and moods of the harbor while Fahling captured those same scenes musically, recording with both an American group and a quartet in Berlin. With funding coming from SAS Airlines, PBS and other corporate and private sponsors, the duo presented their works on September 29, 2000 at Benaroya Concert Hall in Seattle and in Hamburg, May of 2001, and now here, on Origin Records. Originally released in 2000.
