Limited edition silver vinyl pressing of In the Dark — the Grateful Dead's biggest commercial breakthrough — newly mastered by GRAMMY® Award-winning engineer David Glasser and produced for release by David Lemieux.

Released in 1987 after a seven-year studio absence, In the Dark became the Dead's first Top 10 album, driven by their first Top 10 hit "Touch of Grey." Many of the songs had been road-tested since 1982–83, giving the record a lived-in confidence that the band's studio albums often lacked. The result is a collection of bona fide classics: the anthemic "Throwing Stones," the swaggering "Hell in a Bucket," the soulful "West L.A. Fadeaway," and the gorgeous closing ballad "Black Muddy River."

The first Dead studio album co-produced by longtime engineer John Cutler alongside Jerry Garcia, In the Dark captures a sonic presence and live energy owing to the basic tracks being recorded live at the Marin County Civic Auditorium — a local theater the Dead knew well.
