When Felipe Perez plays his accordion, everyone notices that he looks every bit as happy as his music sounds. Full of life, Felipe plays la musica alegre with speed and a tireless verve. It's no wonder. Felipe has been playing professionally since 1950 and he shows no signs of slowing. Perez has carried on the tunes and style of his mentor, Juan Lopez, a master of Corpus Christi style Conjunto accordion. Texas en Polka highlights Felipe's skill not only as a masterful player but as a composer of excellent, traditional style accordion pieces. Felipe's playing is supported by veteran Conjunto musicians, Virginio Castillo (bajo sexto) and Ramon Gutierrez (tololoche). Texas en Polka is old-school Conjuno music at it's very best!

This is a very good CD. I enjoy listing to music from the 50's 60's 70' and the 80's.
The CD is very good. I enjoy listing to music from the time I was growing up and while I was in the Air Force.
