Exciters - Best of [CD]

The Exciters started out as an American pop/soul music group of the 1960s. They were originally a girl group, although a male member (Herb Rooney) was added later. The group consisted of lead singer Brenda Reid, her husband Herb Rooney, Carolyn Johnson and Lillian Walker. In 1975, the group was revived and enjoyed a hit single with "Reachin' for the Best", produced by Rooney and young newcomer producer Ian Levine. The song was aimed at the British Northern soul scene but crossed over to the UK Singles Chart. For the next ten years they became quite popular in England with a string of club hits. This compilation focuses on their career from 1975 through to 1986. All tracks digitally remastered.
