This project visits the obscure corners of Latin America, tracing the sounds of the Andes, the Caribbean and the urban soul of New York. These tracks weave electronic textures with heartfelt performances by a group of west coast veterans, Josh Jones, Geoff Brennan, and Camilo Landau who have played with a huge list of artists from Susana Baca, Tupac to Don Cherry. A few of the tracks are based on a session that Landau did with Cuban piano virtuoso, Omar Sosa with Japanese/Peruvian singer/violinist Pauchi Sasaki and Peruvian musician/shaman, Tito de la Rosa, an eclectic fusion of Andean music and Cuban electronica that Fernandez and Landau used as a palette for creation.
