Although Alexandre Tansman wasconsidered a genius in his lifetime,these recordings demonstrate thatmuch of his chamber music remains tobe rediscovered after years of neglect. Tansman's early successes includedthe prize-winning Romance andlate-Romantic Sonate No. 2, ensuringhis move from Poland into Parisiancultural life. The exploratory character and exquisitepoetry of the Sonate quasi una fantasiacontrasts with the concise FirstSonatine with it's playful Fox-Trot. Despite it's wartime origins the SecondSonatine is bright and buoyant, whilethe Fantaisie is an expressively lyricalproduct of Tansman's final period.

This is a very good CD. I enjoy listing to music from the 50's 60's 70' and the 80's.
The CD is very good. I enjoy listing to music from the time I was growing up and while I was in the Air Force.
