An extraordinary live funk band who released a handful of singles on the label they created themselves (Creative Funk Music), Creative Funk only actually existed for a brief period of time between 1972 and 1975, and although they were quite successful for a short while in their hometown of New York City, they never had the backing of major label to expose them to a wider audience We are indeed fortunate that she left behind some wonderful recordings with Creative Funk - and also as a featured solo artist with four of her own releases on the Creative Funk label. With memorable tunes such as "I'm A Woman," "Tow-A-Way Zone" and "I Need You" - which most likely featured her bandmates backing her up, Jenkins carved out a small but impressive legacy that will no doubt resonate for years to come.
