7A Records are honored to unveil the reissued 1979 Rock Album from Dave Edmunds, 'Repeat When Necessary.' Initially shared on Led Zeppelin's Swan Song label in 1979, 'Repeat When Necessary' would be Dave Edmunds' most successful album. Not only was it his first to chart in the U.K., but also his first to make the U. S. Billboard 200 in the same year. The Elvis Costello-crafted lead single, "Girls Talk," surpassed Dave's prior hit single, "I Hear You Knocking," which was an international hit in 1970. Dave Edmunds and Rockpile, featuring Nick Lowe (also a contributor to this album), embraced the fundamental sounds of the British pub rock genre. They soon complemented this with power pop and rockabilly components, and this combination became a precursor to new wave. This combination was harnessed mightily on this LP. 7A Records were allowed unmitigated entry to the source tapes. Red colored vinyl LP pressing in gatefold jacket.
