2 Aussie post-punk acts join forces to release a synth heavy, super fun, danceable split single.
With Nocturne Baby, Cong's back on the (mutant) dance-floor. This time, instead of pounding the floor and walls relentlessly with punk fervor and reckless abandon though, he is instead luxuriating and sleazing all over it. On Nocturne Baby, the EBM squelks, bleeps and sharp synth arpeggios are there, but this time Cong's voice croons and washes over it playing necromancer, resurging all that is sensual, human and the opposite to daytime ratrace artifice.
Flip the record to hear dance-post-punk duo Hearts & Rockets new synth-heavy single The Promise. Sounding like the indie sleeze offspring of The Cramps and The B-52, Kalindys bratty vocals demand servitude, while Kurts stabbing bass punctures the synths driving melodies, all set to a disco beat.
