The multitalented Cesarius Alvim presents Contrapunctus, an album of duos for bass and piano where Alvim plays both parts. Best known for his trio work, playing bass with pianist Martial Solal and drummer Daniel Humair, Alvim has recently been branching out as a soloist. His recent albums for Fremeaux have found Alvim playing both piano and bass, paired with such stars as Eddie Gomez and Eric Le Lann. Contrapunctus, dedicated to Gomez and Martial Solal, is gorgeous. In the words of Eddie Gomez, "It goes for your heart, from beginning to end, full of sweet and tender melodies that sing and shine."

This is a very good CD. I enjoy listing to music from the 50's 60's 70' and the 80's.
The CD is very good. I enjoy listing to music from the time I was growing up and while I was in the Air Force.
