American soul singer, songwriter and producer Johnny Bristol worked for Motown from 1959 to 1972 with the top selling acts of the roster including the Supremes and Smokey Robinson, and cut some singles in the early 60s as a duo with Jackey Beavers. In 1974, he started his solo career with the notorious smash "Hang On In There Baby," which he also wrote and produced. Several years later, Johnny re-recorded his big hit with a more modern musical backing that especially appealed to the Euro-Disco audience and created quite a buzz in the dance clubs. On the new single presented here, the vocal track from that session is featured with a completely recreated new backing track that eclipses the original and shines a new light on the vintage classic.
