At the centre of the story is, of course, the heist. However, it very quickly became apparent to me that this was not just any heist movie, but more a Noir which happens to have a heist in it. The central characters and how their lives become intertwined was more important than the action, in a way. This is high-octane in parts, of course, but what really drew me to this movie was the character development. Lou, Davis and Sharon are the beating heart.
