Sketches from his journeys and his correspondences give an impression of the diverse nature of Mendelssohn's Europe. With compositions and arrangements for string orchestra by Mendelssohn's contemporaries Hector Berlioz, Gaetano Donizetti, Niels W. Gade, and Robert Volkmann, as well as a mature work by the young Mendelssohn himself, Peter Bruns and the Mendelssohn Kammerorchester offer a panorama of the nineteenth century's compositional diversity. They give insight into the sound world that would have been familiar to Mendelssohn, the cosmopolitan.

I bought it for the BTS interview and pictures and I am not disappointed! The interviews with each member are thoughtful and good. I only wish I could purchase the special edition 8 magazine set.
Haven't watched it yet; I buy LOTS of movies, and it can be weeks, even months, before I get to this one. I like the main actress, having seen her in 2 other films, and was glad to see she's also in one of the other 2 films I ordered from you. All 3 arrived in EXCELLENT condition!!
