From the creative team behind the iconic TV series I Love Lucy comes the lovable sitcom Angel starring Marshall Thompson and Annie Farge. Angelique and John Smith are the happiest newlyweds on Earth! Affectionately known as "Angel", Angelique (Farge) is a recent French import whose unfamiliarity with American customs and struggle with the English language provides an endless sense of awe and bemusement in her patient architect husband John (Thompson). Next-door neighbors Susie and George (Doris Singleton, Don Keefer) are also on hand to lend loyal (if somewhat bewildered) support. Created by industry veteran Jess Oppenheimer, head writer/producer on the legendary TV series I Love Lucy, Angel mimicked the Lucy formula but with a twist this time the housewife was of foreign extraction, not the husband. The series was also filmed at Desilu (for Burlingame Productions), allowing many of the people who worked behind-the-scenes on Lucy to lend their expertise to Angel as well. Newly scanned from pristine 35mm material, and available on DVD for the first time, Angel - The Complete Series, Volume 1 contains the first 11 episodes in the series. Numerous guest stars include Mel Blanc Joe Besser, Rusty Stevens, George Tobias, Gordon Jones, Argentina Brunetti, Joseph Kearns, Herb Vigran, Don Megowan, Lyle Talbot, Mary Wickes, Edgar Barrier, Howard McNear, Emory Parnell, Willard Waterman and Jack Albertson.
