Trumpeter & flugel-hornist Allen Beeson makes his recording debut with First Time Out - an impressive, bop-infused jazz effort which features Tim Aubuchon on tenor sax, Kevin Hennessy - bass, Ken Kehner - piano, Tony Lotven - flute and Todd Strait - drums. A former student of Bobby Shew, Beeson displays chops a-plenty on classic jazz works such as Charlie Parker's Confirmation and Kenny Barron's Voyage, Triste by Antonio Carlos Jobim, You Stepped Out of a Dream and the Masquerade Is Over. Seven original compositions by Beeson complete the program.
