Woke Up In Memphis is singer - songwriter - cornetist Al Basile's tenth CD on his Sweetspot label and presents 14 new songs by Al Basile songs. Produced by Duke Robillard and using the Duke Robillard Band and Roomful of Blues alumni horns behind Al's vocals and cornet, it builds on the Memphis sound of Al's 2012 release At Home Next Door. That disc was #12 on the Living Blues airplay chart, and led to Al's third nomination for a Blues Music Award as best horn player. Woke Up in Memphis also features guest vocalist Sista Monica Parker duetting with Al on his first gospel song "Make A Little Heaven".
