Al Basile's fifth solo CD is a follow up to 2005's "Blue Ink" (SWP #5212), which was #18 on the Living Blues chart for March of 2005. "Groovin' in the Mood Room" features producer Duke Robillard on guitars and piano, and is another collection of blues and roots originals from singer/songwriter Basile. Basile began his career as the first trumpet player in Roomful of Blues and has collaborated closely with Robillard throughout his own solo career as cornet player and co-writer on many of Duke's titles. For those who like to get up and dance, this disc boasts deep grooves in '60s blues and roots styles from Memphis to Texas. For those who listen to the words, as always, Basile's voice changes character as his lyrics tell stories.
