"Yal Menfi" is a reprise in dialectal Arabic of an old Kabyle exile song composed in the aftermath of the 1871 uprising and the final verdict: the deportation to New Caledonia of most of the leaders. "Yal Menfi" (the exile or the banished) evokes the suffering endured by Algerian immigrants of all times. This song is a standard by Akli Yahiaten and a cover by Rachid Taha. Akli Yahiaten (born in 1933 in Aït-Mendes near Boghni (wilaya of Tizi-Ouzou) in Algeria, Akli Yahyaten is a singer of Kabyle expression.

This is a very good CD. I enjoy listing to music from the 50's 60's 70' and the 80's.
The CD is very good. I enjoy listing to music from the time I was growing up and while I was in the Air Force.
