Aftersun is Charlotte Wells’ debut feature, produced by Barry Jenkins, and told in two timeframes: an eleven-year-old girl on a late-’90s holiday with her young father in Türkiye, and the adult woman she becomes years later, revisiting those camcorder tapes to understand what she couldn’t see at the time. It’s a quiet, emotionally precise film about memory—what it preserves, what it misses, and what it changes.
