Born in Louisiana near New Orleans, he was influenced by family friend Jelly Roll Morton, and over the years was associated with the Mississippi town of Vicksburg, which gave it's name to several of his song titles, and Chicago, where he later worked and made most of his records. This 72-track 3-CD collection comprises the A & B sides of just about all his releases on the Paramount, Melotone, Bluebird and Century labels from 1930-47, along with titles from the 1954 album "Windin' Ball Recordings" on Saydisk, the 1960 album "Tasty Blues on Bluesville and the 1961 album "Blues" on Folkways. It comprises many solo recordings, plus some with his jazz quintet, featuring trumpeter Lee Collins, and recordings with singers Irene Scruggs, Annie Turner and Creole George Guenson. It's a fascinating and substantial overview of two different phases of his career, and offers an entertaining showcase for his highly personal style.

Tracklist:

Vicksburg Blues

No Special Rider Blues

Must Get Mine in Front

Good Grinding

Borrowed Love Blues

Back to the Wall

Louisiana Blues

Frisco Hi-Ball Blues

Mama, You Don't Mean Me No Good

Vickburg Blues #2

Woman I Love Blues

Pleading Blues

Chinese Man Blues

Something Keeps Worrying Me

Vicksburg Blues (Pt.3)

Louisiana Blues (Pt.2)

Goodbye, Good Luck to You

Hard on You

Black Pony Blues

Crescent City Blues

Shreveport Farewell

Tantalizing Blues

First Time I Met You

Deceived Blues

Workhouse Blues

A ; V Railroad Blues

Santa Fe Blues

Never Go Wrong Blues

Farish Street Jive

Out West Blues

Leaving Town Blues

Mistreating Woman Blues

West Texas Blues

Sorrowful Blues

Misled Blues

Long Time Ago

El Ritmo

Swingin with Lee

Woman That I Love

Mule Face Blues

Cow Cow Blues

Vicksburg Blues

Crescent City Blues

Trembling Blues

Bob Martin Blues

My Electrical Invention Blues

That's Why I Keep Drinking

No Special Rider

Tasty Blues

Santa Fe

How Long Brother

Pleading Blues

No Special Rider

Brother's Boogie

Sneaky Pete Blues

Something Keeps Worrying Me

Cry Cry Baby

Satellite Blues

Deep Fried

Vicksburg Blues

Pleading Blues

Vicksburg 44

Early One Morning

Now About That Prisoner

Crescent City Blues

Pallet on the Floor

West 46th Street Boogie

I Ain't No Bulldog

Mean Old Mama

London Shout

Storyville Blues

It's All Over Now

UPC: 824046916220
Label: Acrobat
Release Date: 12.6.24
Format: CD

https://rockbandmerch.com/products/little-montgomery-brother-vicksburg-blues-the-singles-albums-collection-cd
