Born in 1900, Va Prhoda performed his first public concert at age 13, playing the 4th Violin Concerto by Mozart. At age 19 he joined the orchestra of the Caf Grand'Italia in Milan. There, he was heard by Arturo Toscanini, who arranged a benefit concert for him, which led to a successful Italian tour.
